03/09/2004-Roy Wooten and the Isaiah Williams Project Roy"Futureman" Wooten, joined Bela Fleck and his brother Victor to form Bela Fleck and the Flecktones in 1990 bringing funk, jazz and r&b into the realm of progressive bluegrass. Futureman invented the drumitar which is a handheld guitar looking drum machine. His nickname was given as a result of this invention. Futch was introduced to Isaiah last July at the summer NAMM show and was so impressed that he, his brother Victor and Jeff Coffin of the Flecktones recorded the Isaiah Williams Project in Nashville that week. Futureman along with the Flecktones have won many Grammy awards since starting there career in 1990. Isaiah was born on November 15, 1994. Isaiah showed and interest in music long before he could even walk. As he got older, and began to stand and move around, any flat surface available became his drum, with or without music. Isaiah's first public appearance was at age two, in a church talent show with his dad. Hours: Tuesday, 8pm Location: The Tralf 622 Main Street Buffalo, NY 14202 Price: $12 adv. / $14.50 dos. 03/19/2004-JOHN MAYALL and the Blues Breakers with special guests The eldest of three from humble working class origins, and in the shadow of WWII, this skinny English lad grew up listening to his guitarist father's extensive jazz record collection and felt drawn to the blues. Strongly influenced by such greats as Leadbelly, Albert Ammons, Pinetop Smith, and Eddie Lang, from the age of 13 he taught himself to play and develop his own style with the aid of a neighbor's piano, borrowed guitars, and secondhand harmonicas. On his 2001 release (under the banner "John Mayall and Friends"), "Along For The Ride", Mayall re-teamed with a number of his former mates, including Peter Green, Mick Taylor, Mick Fleetwood and John McVie, as well as ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons, Jonny Lang, Steve Miller, Billy Preston, Steve Cropper, Otis Rush, Gary Moore, Jeff Healey, Reese Wynans of Steve Ray Vaughan's band and Shannon Curfman for an amazing display of blues power at its finest.
