The birth date is based on his death certificate. No birth certificate has been found (in either the Vermont Vital Records or the Richford town clerks office (nor in the Enosburg town clerks office)). The birth place comes from a birth certificate for an unindentified child born on July 9, 1884. This birth date does not match any of Lester's known children, but the 1880 census does specify that Laura had 6 children, of which only 5 where living at the time of the census. This birth certificate could be the missing child.
The burial location is where Uncle Floyd thinks that Lester is buried (which has been verified by Laura Deforge).
I was not been able to find Lester in the 1850 census data. However, I think that I found him in the 1860 census data in a "Layhu" household. We suspect that Lester is not his birth name.
Lester's marriage certificate says that Lester's father is Peter Lahue.
