The AGM at Western House. Elected at this meeting were:- Bill Marshall, President; Dave Renwick, Chairman; Jim Graham, Vice President; Gul Lilarum, Hon Treasurer; Roger Stocker, Hon Secretary; Andrew Latham, Penny Harrison, Joe Willis, Briony Kershaw, John Winfield, Ron Horspool, Dave Charlton and Deepa Gulhane onto the committee.

23rd January

Burns Supper at Woodlands. In association with Group D. Haggis, tatties and neeps and a wee dram.

11th February

A lager tasting. Lager is usually light in colour, should taste light and crisp without too much of a 'hoppy' flavour. It is fermented with a bottom fermented yeast, stored (laagered) at about 5 degrees C, generally best served chilled. This evening we tasted 16 different lagers from around the world. 11th March

Wine Drive night. For those who have not attended a wine drive before this is a comparative, blind wine tasting. What did we taste:- 8 differnet Shiraz'es from S Africa via France to Australia. The favorite:- South Eastern Australian Shiraz from Marks & Spencer £5.99. Full details on the 11th March page.

Annual AWBS Ale Trail, hunt for clues around London with refreshments stops in some welcoming hostelries! This started at the Black Friar Public House and finished at the George, Borough High Street.One of the best evenings weather for many a month. Our annual Beaujolais evening. Only as we don't think that this wine warrants an evening all by itself this will also contain a few bottles of wine from associated places.

Christmas wines and food. What matches what?, we will have a Christmas menu tonight, Food and wine selected by different committee members, from the Aperitifs to the digestives. 7 courses, light snacks with wine.
