Gramma's Chocolate Cookies


1 C. brown sugar
1/2 C. butter
1 egg
1/2 C. cocoa
1/2 C. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 C. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 C. chopped nuts

Preheat oven to 350'. In a large bowl combine brown sugar and butter. Mix well. Beat egg and add to creamed mixture. Mix well. Add cocoa and mix in. In another bowl measure flour and baking soda. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk to the creamed cocoa mix. Stir in vanilla and chopped nuts. Drop by the teaspoonful onto a cookie sheet and bake for for 10-12 minutes. Remove and place on wire rack to cool. When cooled, frost with icing.


Icing


1 C. powdered sugar
2 Tbls. softened butter
milk, as needed to thin icing

Combine sugar and butter and thin with milk as necessary
