Lettuce With Hot Bacon Dressing


Iceberg Lettuce torn in bite size pieces
sliced hard cooked eggs
bacon, crumbled

In a bowl combine:
1 C. sugar
1/4 C. vinegar
1 tsp. salt
3/4 C. water

Stir till sugar is dissolved. In a frying pan fry bacon. Remove bacon and drain on paper towels. Pour away all but 2 T. bacon drippings. Add sugar mixture and bring to a boil. Slowly add a beaten egg. Pour egg in a thin stream into the hot sugar mixture sitrring, so the egg makes wispy threads. Cook and stir a minute and pour over lettuce. Top with crumbled bacon and hard cooked eggs.
