BOOK
REVIEW
If you're not only a "Foodie" but
also a book
lover, I'm listing a few novels and two cookbooks
you
might enjoy.
A Year in Provence by Peter Mayle
Peter Mayle has written a deliciously
funny diary of
his move to Provence with his wife. Read about his
restoring a 200 year old farmhouse, meeting his
neighbors and dining, dining, dining. I did not want
this book to end so I was delighted to find out
there
was a sequel, Toujour Provence. Both books will
always be favorites of mine.
Diane Mott
Davidson's Culinary Mysteries
Diane Mott Davidison has authored a literary feast
of mysteries. Her books have been called, "A treat
for the gourmet cook as well as the armchair
sleuth". This series is light hearted and clever, a
blend of murder and recipes. They are listed in the
order written and all are in paperback.
Catering To Nobody
Dying For Chocolate
The Cereal Murders
The Last Supper
Killer Pancakes
The Main Corpse
The Grilling Season
Cookbooks
There are only two cookbooks that I
have read start to finish, like a novel, and Ann
Hodgman wrote them both. Her unbeatable recipes and
great sense of humor are irresistible.

A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS
The following links are a gold mine
of
information concerning food and drink. I don't
think
it's possible to come up with a request for a recipe
or even just an explanation of a food or drink that
can't be satisfied here. If you want information
describing wine taste tests you'll find them here.
If
you want clarification of a cooking term or where to
find a special ingredient, not found at your local
market, these links will solve your
problem.
My first choice has at least a million recipes. It
requires
a quick, free registration and then you will have
access.
It is very well organized and easy to use.

RAVE REVIEWS
Come
back often and look for new
additions.
THE TV FOOD NETWORKI love watching the Food
Network and find myself constantly returning to their
home page to find a recipe that I've seen made or to
see what I've missed. If you don't get the Food
Network in your area perhaps this page can help make
up for it. This site is constantly updating and
deleting so if you find a recipe that you like be
sure and copy it before it disappears.
THE COOKS THESAURUS
The Cooks Thesaurus is going to become an old friend
in
my kitchen. How many times have you found yourself in
the middle of preparing a recipe only to find a
missing ingredient? Then there are the recipes that
sound so great except for that ingredient that you or
someone that you're cooking for cannot tolerate. This
is the site that will solve the problem. It gives
great
substitutions. It also helps give you an idea of the
flavor of a food or liquor with you are
unfamiliar with when you read the alternative
suggestions.
