Recipe: Peanut Butter candy Ingredients: 1 jar Peanut butter (non chunk--skippy is the best to use) 1 5lb bag powdered sugar 1 jar Karo syrup clear 1 jar vanilla 1 small container of light cream 1 2 lb or larger bag of chocolate Instructions: in a large bowl mix all of ingredients together except for the chocolate. Using about 1 pound of the sugar to start, usually 2 large serving spoons of peanut butter, a small amount of the syrup. a cap full of vanilla, and a touch of the cream. mix and knead thoroughly with hands. mixture should feel sticky not wet. roll into shapes, i usually do balls or eggs. set on wax paper to let form a light shell, usually if the mix was just right by the time you are done the forming you can melt the chocolate. melt chocolate on med heat in a double boiler. do not fill too much water in bottom pan, water should not touch top pan. do not let water come to a boil. When chocolate is melted or water starts to boil remove top boiler and continue to stir. Let chocolate cool down. using a marble work suface, or a metal pie tie (no holes) works just as well, this is so you can whip the chocolate while coating. sit on wax paper to dry.
