Ingredients:



  • 2 cups semolina
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • ½ cup oil
  • Cup water
  • 1 Tsp. Baking powder
  • ½ Tsp. sodium bicarbonate
  • ¼ cup whole blanched almonds
  • 1 ½ cup syrup


Preparation:


  • Grease a round cake pan, pre-heat oven at 450o.
  • Sift the dry ingredients together, add oil, yogurt, and water into a large bowl, mix well until smooth.
  • Pour the mixture into the cake pan, spread it evenly, decorate with the whole almonds (or slice them in half)
  • Place into oven, bake until golden.
  • While still hot, pour the cool syrup over it evenly and cut into diamond shapes around the almonds and serve.
