We often make the mistake of simplifying Americas southern cuisine by simply calling it southern cooking.When You concider the divercity between New Orleans cooking,and for example Virginia style cooking you will find that they are quite different.I believe that all regional cooking is influenced by not only the early inhabitants,but also the new arrivals.While New Orleans cooking is influenced by European cultures,then certainly Florida's cusine is influenced by both latin America,and by The Caribean.
