Presidents Message January 09

First I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate our newly crowned Chef of the Year, Blaise Dente, CCC. Great job and well deserved! A new year is upon us and we have much to accomplish. Last year was a challenge for our chapter as well the National Chapter. The economy struggled and the financial markets were a disaster. As all of you know we were not nearly as successful in any of our endeavors as we would have liked. I feel that we had a good year but I have put 2008 behind me and I am looking forward to a very successful 2009.

We have already scheduled a hot food competition for March. We had a wonderful holiday party and awards banquet. Several of us are planning to attend the ACF Regional Conference in Boston in February. The National Conference is set for Orlando in July. We want to host a Charity Golf Outing, an Escoffier Dinner and a huge Benefit BBQ. What a year.

Make the time to join us at the Woodlands on Monday night. If all goes as planned 2009 should be a year to remember.

Yours in Hospitality,
Doug Petruzzi, CEC
President ACF Professional Chefs of NEPA Inc.

I shall foster a spirit of consideration and fraternal cooperation within our profession.

I shall place honor and the standing of our profession before personal advantage.

I shall not use unfair means to effect my professional advancement or to injure the chances of another colleague to secure and hold employment.

I shall be fair, courteous and considerate in my dealings with fellow colleagues.

I shall conduct any necessary comments on or criticism of the work of fellow colleagues with careful regard for the good name and dignity of the culinary profession, and will scrupulously refrain from criticism to gain personal advantage.

I shall help to protect all members against one another from within our profession.

I shall be just and enthusiastic about the success of others, as I am about my own.

I shall be too big for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit pressure of business to hurt anyone, within or without the profession.
