The cruising yacht "Velella" was built
in an outer suburb of Melbourne in Australia.
She is a sloop rigged sailing boat of medium displacement prepared for wide ranging ocean sailing and living aboard for long periods of time without the necessity to tie up to a marina.
The vessel is not to be used for racing or other sports. Her purpose is for voyaging, adventuring and travelling.
She was launched in November 2000 at Williamstown in Victoria.
