Adapted and set to music by Ronald Dawbarn
Christ has called us. We've responded And have gathered in this place. Expectant of the Spirit's presence In each touch, each voice, each face.
We have found God's holy spirit Shining through variety Calling us to peace and service One in Christ's community
All our sins and willful choices Keep us from God's gift of peace Shut in walls of self made prisons God has offered us release
So from all our errant wandering From the chains of self and sin Find the answers to our questions Touched by Christ. New life begin
Now he calls, be my disciples With my love, let your life shine Reaching out to all who falter Touch their lives and make them mine
So with those from every nation With joy and hope and love and peace Work unceasing for the kingdom Communities of Christ increase. |

Poem by Suzanne McMillan
Christ has called us, We've responded and have gathered in this place. Expectant of the Spirit's presence In each touch, each voice, each face. We've found God's Light here in rich variety, Gifts of the Spirit shine through you and me Calling us in joy, hope, peace, self-sacrifice To form communities of Christ.
Our sin and willful choices keep us from God's gifts of hope and peace. But though isolated in self-made prisons God has offered us release. So from errant wandering and lonely trial Returned to the Master. Humbled. Reconciled. We'll release our anguish and unanswered questions Rest in Christ, through community.
Freely given is God's love. Touched by His Light, Our hearts have become renewed. Transformed by grace, our sins forgiven, It's now clear what we're called to do: Use our gifts, passions, hearts, and minds, Be Christ's disciples touching humankind And with joy, hope, love, peace, and self-sacrifice, We'll form communities of Christ.
