Chocolate Pistachio Bread

3/4 cup milk
1 egg
3 tablespoons water
4 teaspoons margarine or butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 cups bread flour
3 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon active dry yeast or bread machine yeast
1/2 cup chopped pistachio nuts
1/2 cup sifted powdered sugar
1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
Milk
Chopped pistachio nuts (optional)

Add first 11 ingredients to a 1-1/2- or 2-pound bread machine according to the manufacturer's directions. Select the basic white bread cycle.

In a small mixing bowl stir together powdered sugar, cocoa powder, and vanilla. Stir in enough milk (1 to 2 teaspoons) to make a glaze of drizzling consistency. Drizzle over loaf. If desired, sprinkle with additional chopped pistachio nuts. Makes one 1 1/2-pound loaf (20 servings).
