Press Release – January 25, 2003
Dusty Owens, CEO and Owner of Traditional Country Music Radio, announced
early this morning that TCM Radio is officially “on the air.” The address
of the Internet radio station is www.tcmradio.com. TCM is dedicated to
promote all genres of classic country music, bluegrass and gospel.
Owens, who lives in Temple Terrace (Tampa), Florida, got his start
in radio in Flint, Michigan at the age of 16. A few years later, he was
writing exclusively for Acuff-Rose Publishing Co. and recording for Columbia
Records. Today, he continues to write and sing country music, and records
for Admiral Records. His biggest hits were “Once More,” “Hello Operator,”
and “Just Call On Me,” which he penned. Recently, Admiral released a new
CD, “Dusty Owens Sings Once More,” which features “You Can’t Find Hank
Williams (On The Jukebox Anymore).” Owens will do some of the Dee Jay work
for TCM Radio.
Charlene Gilmore of Jourdanton, Texas, has been appointed the Station
Manager of TCM Radio. She serves as the web mistress, a vital role in Internet
broadcasting. Gilmore is a professional at her work, having designed websites
for numerous well-known artists and radio personalities. Her business is
Design by Dumplins. She is an accomplished vocalist and records for Misty
Records. Her latest CD is entitled, “Char.” She has garnered prestigious
awards including the King Eagle “Up and Coming Artist” award this past
October.
Richard White of Nashville, Tennessee, is one of TCM Radio’s Dee
Jays on the “Country” channel. White has called Nashville his home for
many years, where he has gathered information about artists, bands and
recordings. White uses this information to make his radio shows very interesting.
He wears many hats: historian, singer, songwriter, musician, and radio
engineer. White is currently managing a well-known country artist.
Sandy Samples of Houston, Texas will be hosting “The Christian Side
Of Country” on the Gospel channel on TCM Radio. Samples started her musical
career as a bass guitarist in the 1960s, backing many of the country legends
of today. As a country singer, the “Sandy Samples Show” was developed and
she toured from coast to coast and border to border. Saved by grace in
1983, she started a music ministry that has continued to this present day.
Samples and her husband, Don Jones, own and operate Misty Records and Mo-Tex
Music, a publishing company.
