Hi There!!! My name is "Disco"
I was born in Seattle on June 22,
1996. I have been hand fed and raised in a quaint local
pet store in the area. On March 4th, 1997 my new owner
"Christi" (ADLADY) bought me and took me home
to a nice house in Newcastle, Washington. She provided me
with a nice new wonderful cage with lots of really cool toys for me to
play with. Some of my favorite things to do is to be on anyones
shoulder, to be outside of my cage being part of the action.
I have two older but smaller sisters thier names are PJ and KC,
they are known as Quaker parakeets or Monk parrots. PJ is the larger of the two birds
and both of them are a riot. They are about the size of a Steller Jay(similar to a Blue Jay).
More About my Species
Goffin's Cockatoo Cacatua gofini
Description: Total length 12 1/2 inches(32cm). Male: basic plumage color white;
bridle pink; small rounded crest; undersides of wing and tail yellowish; legs light gray;
iris black. Female: Similar to male except iris brown-red. Distribution: Exclusively
on Tinimbar Island of New Guinea. Habitat: Primarily forest. Maintenance: One of the smallest
cockatoos, it appears Goffin's offer no problems in maintenance and are undemanding.
Nevertheless, Goffin's cockatoos have a strong need to gnaw and have
a relatively loud voice. A single bird can become very tame
and learns to imitate different clever tricks.
