Nights

Nights in Nashville

The nights here in Nashville can be fun, depending on what you like to do. Seems like there is always something going on, from something as simple as going down to any numerous small taverns, coffee shops, or somewhere like that and listening to local bands, singers and songwriters.

There are also may times taping for shows and such which are offered to the public at low prices, or even free. The radio stations also put on numerous concerts during the year for their listeners, the latest on I went to was for 95WSM, where Clay Walker, Anita Cochran, Brady Seals, and newcomer Michael Peterson were featured.

The Wildhorse also has small concerts most every weekend, and have featured many stars, one of the ones I went to was for Lee Roy Parnell and the Hot Links, but they have also had shows featuring Billy Dean, Lonestar, David Kersh, and many more!

As like most other places across America, we have also had the opportunity to have the "Walmart Across America" tour come through here last summer. We were treated to Bryan White and a newer band called the Thompson Brothers (not to be confused with the "pop" group the Thompson Twins.)

There are also many things besides music to do here in Nashville, among the many restaurants, shops, museums, and concert places, we also have a minor league baseball team, called the Nashville Sounds. In the newly built arena, we have a brand new team called the Nashville Kats. It is Arena football, and actually does have some sort of links to country music, as Travis Tritt is part owner of the team.

We also have the Nashville Speedway I personally enjoy this, as they have local races every Saturday night, some of which are broadcast on TNN, and also on every other Tuesday, they have what is called Celebrity Legends races, which is smaller cars with motorcycle engines, and some of the country stars turn out every race to see who's the best driver. Those races are sponsored by Brooks and Dunn, this year's winners of a couple ACM awards. Hopefully soon I will have some pictures of some of the stars and cars to add to my page soon.
