The main reason is because several songs in particular follow to much a sorrowful tone. But the Great Divide doesn't really reflect this. I think that the band is very dynamic with their various uses of instrumentation. The lyrics are very creative, I look very forward fro the band to come out with new material. I can very much relate to the lyrics in 2 songs in particular. "Pour me a vacation" reminds me of how I wqould like to get away from all the troubles in the world. "Round that Bend" reminds me of special times with a special someone I had dated in the past. Keep up the good work gentlemen! |

I always thought they were from Texas, though. They sound and act like it. I heard them on tape years ago, like 1994 or so, via my sister and her boyfriend, who had stolen the tape from Ward, his cousi , who was attending college at Tarleton State in Stephenville, TX. I stole it from my sister and kept it hid for years until we went floating the Frio above Concan and I had it playing in the dually. Sneaky twerp stole it back that summer when I lived u there. And I've been looking to find the band's address, or someone who knew how to find these guys. I heard them on CMT and flipped out. It was great to hear that band sing. I love their music. I made all my friends sing to it and they were loving very minute of it on the way to dance hall, rodeos, bars, road trips to Mexico, you name it. I hope this band stays around forever. Thanks to the people who actually made them public in a big way. You obviously know great music when you hear it. I really wish these guys would play down south farther than just Austin. That band is going to be so popular down here, when they are played on the air more often. That is S. Texas style music, even if it came from Stillwater, OK. I'm glad this band and that type of music is still around and kickin. That proves cowgirls do have angels on their side, or at least this one does. |
