Poems From School
by Eveninglight

"If You Leave Me Now"

I have tried to translate some of my poems.
There may be some strange phrases, hope you don't mind

Autistic child

Close
Still far away
Dumb
Closed
Still loved

1996

To a student

You laugh too hard, you laugh too rough
You swear and rude behave
You think, that you are smart and tough
and feel that you are brave
You like to be as cool as steel
and hard like walls of stone
but tough guy, yet I know and feel
an eggshell is that tone
And inside there is flesh and blood
a body of a boy
with longings and a constant flood
of letdowns, hopes and joy.

I wish that you would have a door
right through that blocking fence
so that you sometimes like before
could leave that cave by sense
and be what you were thought to be
before your road went wrong
I've seen your beauty shine to me
and heard your inner song
Take care my young and precious friend
you're very dear to me
I beg you once and once again
the one you are to be.
