Enough about varmints and varlets, how 'bout the food! Can't you just smell those onion burgers and funnel cake? If Cajun Bill comes back this year you can get alligator on a stick. What are your favorite festival foods(homemade or bought). In the interest of furthering culture I post a recipe for the ultimate Winfield training meal:

Frito Pie

Ingredients:

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Spread 2 cups of Fritos in a baking dish. Sprinkle half the onion and half the cheese over the Fritos. Pour the chili over the onion and cheese. Sprinkle the remaining onion and cheese over the chili.

Bake for 15 or 20 minutes and cheese is bubbly. Serve hot.

Roy,

Great recipe. Definitely, Frito Pie is the ultimate Winfield Warmup food.

However, you forgot a few of the finer points. These have been made clear to me by Winfield regular Dennis Atkinson; and are: (1) this should be served in a styrofoam bowl (china, Corelle, crockery, mel-mac, or any other just doesn't impart enough "transience" to the meal), and (2) the cheese should be Velveeta (pronounced "Vel-Ve-TAH" with the pinky finger extended.)

Glad I could help.
