Home at Winfield 27
One of the things that made this a great year for me was that I was allowed to pitch my tent right next to where all the jammin' was going to happen (not to mention where camp breakfast is cooked...) Monday night's deluge also taught me why they put a zipper on the bottom of the door of a dome tent... Hey, what's a little water on the floor when you're at Winfield?

Don sharing pixDon Shorock dropped by to share pictures. Don somehow managed to be everywhere. I overheard a Security person ask him if he had clones working on his behalf... (No.)
I ran into Don again later that same night, and we visited quite a few "named" camps, and I finally found the "hysterical marker" at the camp formerly known as RollinRFarms.

workshop
Don led an "acoustic HTML" workshop  at the Horizon Internet Technologies booth trying to drum up a few more camp websites for Virtual Winfield.  Unfortunately, even though the computers were hooked up, the air conditioning wasn't. Horizon bldg

Band scrambling

I got to be a judge at the Riverats Band Scramble which was a whole lot of fun. I tried to bow out out of fairness to the musicians (I'm not one) but Greg said qualifications were not necessary... I didn't get any pictures from my front-row seat 'cause my camera battery went dead on the way over to it. I did get a cool button out of the deal, though.

Bennet with Harp Guitar Until the Coming Home: A Winfield Celebration CD, I had never heard of a harp guitar. Stephen Bennet makes some really beautiful music with this instrument, and now I have a whole CD of it, along with 7 or 8 CDs by other performers and a couple of the "official" T-shirts.

Don wasn't the only one who gave a non-instrument workshop. More people turned out for Linda's. Linda Tilton

Winfield just seems to get better every year. Here's a toast to 1998 and Let's do this again! (Photo by Chris Gouge) Toast to next year
