DeeAnn has been playing fiddle and violin most of her life --- she started out at the age of eight and has no plans to quit. DeeAnn has an extensive classical background, including performances with the Sacramento Symphony Orchestra while still a teenager. As she got older, she began to take an interest in traditional Irish and Scottish folk music. Finding fiddling more to her liking, she quit her formal classical pursuits and joined an Irish folk band. After several years she moved to the Arkansas Ozarks with her family, where she was introduced to folk musicians Deb Carbone and Karen Kraft, who in turn introduced her to the old-time Ozark music. After competing in national, state and local fiddle contests, and performing some really gruelling schedules with the Dixie Darlin's, she has emerged as a multi-faceted fiddler, excelling in old time, stringband, contradance, and even some klezmer as well as the traditional Celtic styles. DeeAnn can be seen performing with the Dixie Darlin's stringband, and her other bands, Irish Blend, and Featherstone, at the Ozark Folk Center, in Mt. View, Arkansas. The Dixie Darlin's perform at festivals throughout Arkansas and surrounding states, and at Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri.
