MUSIC NOTES

NOTE FROM THE EDITOR

To all Music City’s B’nai B’rith Girls. Welcome to the 1997 October Edition of the “Music Notes.” This past month and a half has been very busy trying to get this amazing paper ready for you to read. I would like to thank all of the Executive Board members for getting their officer reports in on time (BLAIR). Most of all I would like to thank Emalie Berezov because I can honestly say I couldn’t have pulled this paper together without her. Thanks again!

Love Always,
Adrienne Jayne Snetman

N’SIAH’S NEWS

My sister Bínai Bírith Girls,

Close your eyes and take a minute to think about something. (Well, I guess you can’t do it until after you finish reading.) Think of that first program you attended as you eagerly inched through the doorway and gazed at the strange girls who were foreign to you. Think of the first meeting when you sat in the back and tried to make some sense of the motions being passed and
the words the girls were screaming at the top of their lungs, as they cheered their pride for the group. Now think of the first program you attended where you sat in the corner, afraid to talk as everyone else hung out with the friends they already had. Think of the first meeting where the board sat at the front of the room and dictated what was going to happen in the chapter, as you listened and felt no part nor pride in what was being done. Try to think of the first program when all of the girls came together and talked, and you truly felt a part of the group. Think of the program that was planned by a fellow member, as you watched everyone enjoy themselves and learn about everyone in the group. Which situations sounds the best to you?

S’GANIT’S STORY

What up kids? How is it going? Things are going great in Vice Presidentville. We had out first program of the new term which was very successful. Just to refresh your memory here is what we did: We kidnapped our new beau and little brother (Braden and Max) and we took them rollerskating. It was a lot of fun, plus we got to eat cake in the P.A.R.T.Y. Room. Moving on, we have a lot of fun programs coming up, and if you have any cool ideas or just want to help, you know the drill--call me (356-5921). Well, I gotta go do my S’ganit thing so I’ll check ya’ later!

Respectively submitted with all my love for Music City BBG and really good programs,
Allison Yazdian

Also, I have been working with Adrienne, your magnificent Mazkirah, to get out this wonderful issue of Music Notes. GIZBORIT GOSSIP

Hey all you crazy Music City Girls,

I hope you guys have had a great first two months of school. Lately our bank account has been very busy. We got dues money from the MIT’s and then sent it right out to the regional office, and we also ordered the chapter jerseys. They should be coming in either the Monday or Tuesday before Halloween, and as soon as I get then I will notify you if you ordered one. Also I have been spending time thinking of lots of different fundraisers but with out all of you girls help nothing will ever be able to be put into play. First of all on December 7th at the Hannukah carnival we are going to have a bakesale. For this bakesale to works we need everyone to bake something. Then on December 13th the JCC is having its first annual card night . At this evening we have a choice of what we want to do; we could either have a bakesale and/or do babysitting. It would be wonderful if everyone would call me as soon as possible to share their thoughts on this evening. Second of all, we are making January BBG baby-sitting month so when formal comes along we will have bocuddles of money in the bank and there will be no money problems. Well that’s all for now. If you have any questions or ideas for fundraising feel free to call me anytime. My phone number is 352-3345.

SH’LICHA’S GOOD DEEDS

Hey all you magnificent mice,

I am Beth Stephens, your fall Sh’licha. I am in charge of coordinating community service events. I have some great ideas and some big plans, but I’m going to need your help! I need some people who are interested in being on a Jewish Heritage committee to organize programs about Jewish Heritage. I am also going to need plenty of participants who are eager to lend a hand in our community. Please call me if you are interested in volunteering for the committee or any other events. Your questions and comments are always welcome and appreciated. My number is 794-3199.

All my BBG love,
Beth

October 12--Michael Jones
Rachel Levy
October 20--Hillary Kamen

If I left out your name please excuse me. My list doesn’t have everyone’s name on it. Please let me know if I forgot your birthday.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Your a very special friend to me,
Much better than I would be.
I hope you have fun on this special day,
Your honored and loved in every way.
You mean so very much to me,
What would I do if there wasn’t a “WE?”
I remember the day that we once met,
Something I haven’t forgotten yet.
I hope we stay friends till the very end,
and we’ll go off together like the dust and the wind.
Once again I wanted to say,
I hope you have the best birthday!

MAZKIRAH’S CLOSING MOMENTS

Hey Ladies,

Well it looks like this edition of the Music Notes is coming to an end. I want to stress this one very important thought. The newspaper can only be made better if everyone helps in writing it. This is not the Adrienne Snetman Newspaper but it is the Music City Newspaper. I don’t want to have to write every article and I am sure you will all get bored hearing just my articles.
I want everyone to add their creative ideas to the paper. It could just be added by you calling me and suggesting an idea. Or you can go as far as to write something or send me a quote or a picture to add. I want to again especially thank Emalie Berezov for her hardwork and dedication. Also her help with addressing all of the envelopes to all of the members.
