Nashville Dream

When I was just a boy I’d listen to the radio
I knew all the words to every Country song
My Mom would look at Dad and she’d say “Hon ya know”
”There’s music in his blood and it’s flowin’ strong"
Then came the day my Daddy gave me his guitar
It weren’t too long before I learned to play
By the time I wrote my first song, I said “Dad I’m gonna be a star”
He just smiled and said “maybe someday"
"But don’t dream your life away”

When that sun goes down, oh I’m Music City bound
I’m gonna life my Nashville Dream
With my name in neon lights sayin’ “Sold out tonight”
I can hear the people scream, in my dream
My Nashville Dream

Now twenty years have gone, since that very day
I set out to find the rainbows end
I spent many a night, alone on the lost highway
Guitar by my side was my only friend
I still ain’t made the big time, but I don’t really care
I’ll keep trying till I make the grade
My music keeps me going, I don’t know how or where
When I find out, I know I’ll have it made
May the dream never fade…

When that sun goes down, oh I’m Music City bound
I’m gonna live my Nashville Dream
With my name in neon lights, sayin’ “Sold out tonight”
I can hear the people scream, in my dream
My Nashville Dream
In my dream
My Nashville Dream
