Lee Hom's " Forever 1st Day " Album Diary
89/10/21~89/10/27 @ Part 20
Dear Friends,
This week has been absolutely crazy. Since my last letter seven days ago, I have been to Hong Kong, Chang Sha, Shanghai and now Xi An. Tomorrow I go to Wen Zhou. These recent appearances are the beginnings of my China promotion activities for "Forever's First
Day". Yes, I know, this album has now been out for several months, but China's promotion could only begin now on account of my busy movie schedule.
In Hong Kong, I finally finished shooting for the movie "In the Name of Heroes"! It's over!!!! Next stop: Changsha. It had been a year since I was last in Changsha and I ended up staying in the same hotel
room at Jing Yuan Hotel as last year. It was not until after I entered my room did I realize that this was the precise place that I composed the song "Forever's First Day" a year ago! What a strange feeling of deja vu!
Next stop: Shanghai. I shot a commercial for Bulova watches which also features my newest composition, "Time to Fall in Love". The full length version of this video will be coming soon to a TV set near you in early November!
Today I'm writing to you all from Xi An...home of the famous terra cotta soldiers! This is my first time here and I was fortunate enough to have tens of thousands of fans show up at my concert last night with Ren Xian Qi, Xiong Tian Ping, and Lin Zhi Xuan. It was quite amazing to see so many fans singing along with my songs when I've never even been here before.
Additionally, I was supposed to hold an autographing session at Kai Yuan shopping center today. However, due to an overwhelming multitude of fans showing up (estimated at 4,000!), the situation was out of control and someone actually ended up getting hurt because of the pushing. Unfortunately, the ultimate result was that the entire autographing session had to be canceled.
Please understand, dear fans in Xi An, I am more disappointed than you are for not being able to meet you all face to face. I was really looking forward to the autographing session but security, in consideration of the fans' safety, would not let me attend. You must
understand that this decision was made against my will. Therefore, I asked for the Kai Yuan shopping center to collect all the cd and cassette jackets of "Forever's First Day" and send them over to my hotel room where I spent the rest of the day signing them all one by one. I asked my promoters at Sony to take pictures of me signing
the album so that you all know it was truly me. Those fans who exchanged your album covers for a numbered ticket can go back to Kai Yuan any day this week and pick up your autographed versions of "Forever's First
Day".
Anyway, this week has been crazy and without a lot of sleep. It's time for me to go to bed now so without further ado...sweet dreams.
Goodnight,
Homeboy
