Having just finished concerts in Taiwan and Hong Kong, come this august Leehom will be staging a concert in Shibuaya (if i did not translate wrongly) with Taro Hakase. This marks Leehom's entrance into the Japanese music scene.
Eversince Leehom entered Sonymusic, the company has been slowly planning Leehom's music 'kingdom'. In the area of album production, apart from giving him plenty of space to spread his creativity and SonyMusic in New York has arranged for him to have America's best producer and arranger to help him. Example, the song, "Xi Huan Cheng" in his new album, was arranged by Janet Jackson's arranger. In the area of music partnership, ever since Leehom collaborated in arranging and producing one of the tracks in Kimuro Tetsuya's "Happiness x2, Lonliness x2", his music has started to gain some recognition in Japan.
Next Leehom would partner with japanese musician Taro Hakase. They had both worked together before, with Taro Hakase playing the violin in "Crying Palms" and "Julia". Recently when Taro Hakase came to Taiwan for a concert, he invited Leehom to be his guest singer. In the same fashion, Taro Hakase invited Leehom once again for his concert in Japan this august and promised to give him a full 30 mins on stage to perform! Another recent collaboration with a New Yorker singer, Laura Fabian, "You Light Up My Life" has been doing quite well in the english music charts and getting very good response from the crtics.
Also, recently a black horse has risen out of the japanese music market, Ping Jing Jian (Note: I have no idea who is he. Can anyone furnish me with his romanised name?), who is also a genius in composing and music making. His first debut single has sold a whooping of 200 thousand in sales. This august, he will be coming to Taiwan to attend the Summer Party concert held by MTV channel and he will be singing a duet with Leehom. However, Leehom will be meeting him early august when he flies to Japan. Maybe we can expect some musical sparks when the two meet.
Though many albums have been released this summer, Leehom wants to thanks all his supporters and fans who have encouraged him online or written to him personally and those who have even help promote his "Forever's First Day" to other friends, resulting an increase in sales of his new album. After august when he returns back from Japan, he would have another round of promotion planned in taiwan.
