Presently in Shanghai, rushing to film 2 movies, the singer-songwriter Wang LeeHom may be physically in Mainland China, but his heart is still in Taiwan. On the 1st anniversary of the 921 big quake, Leehom made a long distance call to Sonymusic, indicating that he wanted to donate all the royalities collected from the song "Love Never Disappears", a total of NT$20,550 to help the orphans from the 921 earthquake. Leehom expressed that though the sum is not great, it represents his heartfelt concerns and hope to do his bit for the victims. Leehom is currently now filiming for 2 movies, "China's Strike Force" and "Legend of the Iron Fist". Even as his kungfu gets better, Leehom has not forgotten his first love: music, frequently playing the violin during the breaks for the crew's enjoyment. In addition, the movie theme song that he wrote would be sung by him personally.
When the 921 earthquake happened last year, Leehom quickly teamed up with lyrist, Shi Fang, and wrote the song "Love Never Disappears" and he also indicted that he would donate all royalites collected from the song to the quake fund. The song, sung by A*Mei, swept Taiwan away, assuring many broken-hearteds. Recently, Leehom received the notice of the royalities from the inital sales release, he would receive a total of NT$120,550. Being true to his words, he immediately discussed with his mother about the donation. The orphans from the earthquake were their main concern. Coincidentally, Leehom read in the papers about 4 Fu siblings, orphaned by the quake and are now residing in a catholic children's home. The poor 4 siblings still miss their parents dearly and often cry about wanting to go home but tsk, they are homeless. Leehom was very sad upon hearing the news hence he decided to donate the money to the home, hoping that the 4 siblings would have a better life. Leehom also expressed that he alone cannot do much but he hopes to do his best for them and hopes that the others will follow suit and show their concern.
Meanwhile, Leehom is in full force filming not one, but two movies, hanging upsidedown in a scene with Noriko Fujiwara and kissing Gigi Leung in another. Although Leehom maybe have his stomach churning for some scenes, the kungfu parts are still not a threat to him. Leehom was glad that he learnt a bit of gymnastics when he was young, hence his body is now flexible. In addition with Stanely Tong and Yuan Kui, both are international directors, Leehom feels that he has learnt a lot from them and it is an honour. The one thing that Leehom really wants to do now, is to watch the comic-based movie, "X-men". It is partially because the fighting squence was directed by Yuan Kui and bound to be very exciting. Other than that, Leehom plays his violin during every filming break, to amuse the whole crew. He expressed that music is still his 1st love and playing the violin can help him destress from the hectic filming and may also provide some inspiration for his songs. Leehom would be proceeding to write and sing for the theme song of the movies.
