After gaining recognition in the "Top 10 Pop Artistes", Leehom has been nominated in 5 categories of the Malaysia's first "Mandarin Golden Melody Awards", namely: Best Male Vocalist; Best Producer; Best Song Written; Best Arrangement; and Top 15 Golden Melody.
Leehom's "Forever's First Day" was released in June this year and subsequently, Leehom began making films after a few days of promotion. Hence Leehom's focus for the 2nd half of the year is on the movies. However, his musical talents are not put on hold. Besides the poll held recently by Udnnews.com and Udnstars.com for Top 10 Pop Artiste, which Leehom reigned in the midst, the recent release of the nominees list in Msia's first music awards had seen Leehom nominated in 5 different categories.
The most interesting thing about the awards is that both Leehom and David Tao are running in 2 same categories, Best Male Vocalist and Best Producer. The two men will meet briefly on the awards and the results will be released on 11th Nov, during the awards ceremony.
Leehom, who possesses both musical substance and idol attractiveness, has rose to be the most "shining" creative pop idol in Taiwan. Although Leehom's focus has been on music making ever since he entered the scene, his handsome looks did not failed to attract serveral movie makers. This year, Leehom broke the mold and joined Aaron Kwok, Noriko Fujiwara, Lin Xin Ru..in the movie "China's Strike Force", which has recently wrapped up its filming. In another film, "Tekken" or loosely translated "Legend of the Iron Fist", Leehom shared the screen with Gigi Leung and even given her his first onscreen kiss!
Rumours have said that after cooperating with Sonymusic in "Revolution", Leehom signed a 2-album contract, which has been fulfilled recently with the release of his latest album. Adding on top is Leehom's focus on movies, the two parties need some time to sort out the details. Hence there have been reports of recording companies trying to lure Leehom over. Sonymusic general manager Lee Yue Qi has expressed that Leehom is still contract-bound and a new album is slated to be out in spring/summer. He added that both parties had a great time working together and they share common visions of the future.
