The Seventh Time

words and music by William O. Richardson

I was drivin' down the street by the college
She was runnin' down the sidewalk tall and tan
Wearin' Joggin' shorts a walkman and a halter
Lord the devil sure knows how to tempt a man

Then the thought occurred to me it ain't the devil
Only God above could make her look that way
And I'm just showin' my appreciation
I know he understands me when I say

Lord, you sure did a good job on that one
She's the kind of girl takes my breath away
Lord, you sure did a good job on that one
It's the seventh time I fell in love today

Way back in the beginning there was Adam
He was lonely so the Lord made him a mate
Eve put a gleam in Adam's eye
And God said Go and multiply
You've got a whole wide world to populate

That gleam is still around The race keeps going
It's the only reason why we're here today
A purely natural physical attraction
Makes me want to turn around and say

Lord, you sure did a good job on that one
It's amazing wat you can do with clay
Lord, you sure did a good job on that one
It's the seventh time I fell in love today
