Move to Montana

words and music by William O. Richardson

Did you ever want to move to Montana
Build a shack out in the woods
Tell the deer and the antelope
This city life's no good
There's traffic jams and gangs and crime
Costs you a dollar just to make a dime
No matter what you do

Maybe I watch too much CNN
The Dow goes down then up again
The White House is a den of sin
I wonder if it's true

If it is it's nothing new
'Cause people do what people do
But everybody tells on you
If you're the president

Before it comes the money's spent
You never quite know where it went
And the new frontier's the internet
So find yourself a home

Unless you'd rather move to Montana
Build a shack out in the woods
Tell the deer and the antelope
This city life's no good
There's traffic jams and gangs and crime
Costs a dollar to make a dime
No matter what you do

So make that money pay those bills
Drink that coffee pop them pills
Smoke a cigarette if you can find a place to hide

In California doctors pray
They don't piss off the DEA
Prescribing what the people say
They've earned the right to do

And then there's the ACLU
The NRA the GRU
(Oh, the GRU's in Russia?)
What's the difference anyway

Before it comes their money's spent
They never quite know where it went
Do they spy on their president
I wonder if it's true

If it is it's nothing new
'Cause people do what people do
Who you believe is up to you
But if I was president

I think I'd to move to Montana
Build a shack out in the woods
Tell the deer and the antelope
That Washington's no good
There's Linda Tripp and Kenneth Starr
The secret service in the car
Big brother's watching you

Think I'm gonna move to Montana
