Our Facilities

|
So, what are our tall claims, based on ?. As you must have seen by now, we have a host
of facilities...We can broadly classify, all our features into: 1. Software 2. Process Control 3. Music 4. Instruments 5. Recording Eqpt 6. Medical Facilities Our system software was developed in the Microsoft Visual studio (VC++ ver: 6.0). We referred the book "Mastering VC++ 6.0", by Michael J. Young. This book provided us with a comprehensive guide for doing complex VC++ programming. I recommend this book for all beginners. We used an AMD K6-II based machine with 64 MB RAM, for our programming work. We would like to say that it works as good as/better than a P-III with 127 MB RAM. You can really "feel" the speed during program start-up or Windows start-up. For our Process Control based tests we used a Binary Distillation Column, available in the Process Control Laboratory, Trivandrum, extensively. It is a full-fledged distillation column, which actually separates a mixture of water & acetone in the required concentrations. We used a 486 with 16 MB RAM, for running our exe file. We created our set-up files using the Install Shield program available with VC++ 6.0. While composing our music, we used electric lead guitars, bass guitars, acoustic guitars, Grand Piano, Yamaha & Casio keyboards, Violins, Korg N364 keyboard, Roland - Human Rhythm Composer & a Compaq presario computer with 96 MB RAM, mikes & cubes. We used the Creative wave studio for digital recordings & the Kenwood XD-370 series Music system with Dolby NR for analog recordings. We have tried to ensure the highest quality in our music with recording frequencies of 48,000 KHz, instead of the CD quality 44,000 KHz & of course a 16 bit sampling rate. We also have plans for inviting Sooraj. S, who has represented India in SAARC for playing solo violin in our songs. We have also tried to enhance the "feel" our sound using digital techniques. We went to the Jupiter Recording studio in TVM for all our recording purposes. It has a state-of-art, 8-track recording system, with all the facilities required for a small band like ours to record. We wanted to record digitally, bus as most of our singers had exams during that time, we weren't able to do so...In the studio, we used the N364, for recording the track & other purposes...It's certainly unlucky that we were not able to use all the eqpt we had in the manner that we had wanted. About our medical facilities, we'll be providing a whole lot of pages in the near future. If you want to avail of our dental, physical medicine, & radiology wings. |
