¾ cup margarine
3 cups cake flour
2 ¼ cup sugar
1 ½ teaspoon baking soda
1 ½ teaspoon vanilla
¾ teaspoon salt
3 eggs
1 ½ cup ice water
3 oz. unsweetened chocolate, melted
Cream margarine, sugar and vanilla. Add eggs, beating until light and fluffy. Add chocolate and blend well. Sift together dry ingredients; add alternately with water to batter. Pour into three 8” layer cake pans. Bake at 350° 30 – 35 minutes. If using a 13’ X 9” pan bake 40 – 45 minutes.
