Hurricane Floyd and Flood Pictures Pg. 2

The following pictures were sent to me by Mark Schumann from Virginia.
He is also an American Red Cross Volunteer. If you were affected by
Hurricane Floyd and would like to contribute some pictures for use on
my pages, please send them to me at berthad@mailexcite.com along
with an explanation of the picture and who you are. I will post them
and give credit to you for them.

The three pictures above were taken at the Red Cross Kitchen that
was set up in Wilson, North Carolina. The Volunteers were emptying
and cleaning the cambros after coming back from their feeding routes.

The four pictures above was taken in Sharpsburg, North Carolina.
Part of this apartment complex is on low ground. This is the section
that got hit really hard by the flood water. You can see that the people
that live here have already starting the "cleaning-up process" by tearing
out insulation, sheetrock, some or most of their furniture and appliances.

This picture was taken at Red Cross Headquarters in Smithfield, N.C.
We had already finished up with our COB (close of business) and was
waiting around to see if some of us were going to be sent on down to
Florida, drive an ERV down there, drive an ERV back to its custodial
Chapter or just go ahead and fly home. As you have seen in the previous
pictures, when we are working we take it very seriously ~ going about our
daily routines. BUT ~ we do tend to "clown around" when we are on what
we call "down time" or are on our "own time". On these assignments, you
also tend to "make friends and bond". In this picture, Kris and Mark were
waiting to go to the airport in Raliegh to fly on home. We wanted a "group"
picture because the five of us had become "friends". There were actually
about 20 in our "little group" but the others had already gone home. We
had been "picking" on Mark and right before this picture was taken,
Frances and Patti "scooped him up". The people in the picture are
(from left to right) Kris Fultz from ? (sorry to say I don't remember)

If at any time, while you are visiting my Red Cross Disaster pages
and you see a picture of your "home or property", I will remove it.
But I will only do so after you have confirmed it to my satisfaction.
