Every now and then in the field of entertainment one man seems to stand out and create a whole music style, leaving his brand on singers, writers, and musicians for years to come. These extraordinary people become known as "legends" and are idolized by fans and stars alike. More often than not, these legendary superstars maintain a warmth, sincerrity, and humility that sets them apart from most other sucessful people. Ernest Tubb was that kind of man and is that kind of legend.
It was a privilege and honor to name Ernest Tubb the 2004 NACMAI Country Legend recipient. David McCormick, the owner of the Ernest Tubb Record Shops, accepted the award for Ernest Tubb.
