The TNN awards are the only current awards voted solely by the fans. In previous years TNN had partnered Music City News for these awards, this year it is the readers of Country Weekly who will get to vote. The nominees, announced on 16 March 2000 by Montgomery Gentry and Sara Evans, are listed below. The Award ceremony will take place on 15 June 2000 at Nashville's Gaylord Entertainment Centre.
This year there are three different categories to previous years;
Fast Track Award An individual, duo or group that has shown significant career growth.
Discovery Award An artist who shows the most promise.
Impact Award An artist whose style has most impacted country music.
