Career

I AM A CUSTOM FURNITURE BUILDER BY TRADE. I build pieces ranging from clocks to entertainment units. I have been building custom furniture for 8 years. I enjoy working with curved pieces and using veneers to define space and shape. At a point in the future I hope to have some downloaded pictures of work that I have produced. The WEB is something I am just learning to explore and to use. So check back in the future as this is a work in progress!!!!

OLD-TIME MUSIC

For close to 22 years I have had an extreme interest in SOUTHERN STRING BAND MUSIC. The band that hooked me was Gid Tanner and His Skillet Lickers a rough and rowdy gang from North Georgia,who recorded in the late 1920's to 30's. Over the years I have collected 78rpm recordings from that era,and played in various string bands myself.Some of the bands I have played with include THE REBEL YELLERS,CORK LICKERS,AND THE THREE STRIPPED GEARS. At the present i enjoy listening to the evolution of the pure country sound into what became a more up town sound. I enjoy bands such as the East Texas Seranaders, McMichen's Wildcats, and other bands which were influenced by the jazz and blues of the era. I would be more than happy to hear from anyone with an interest in this music.
