My sis, Me, and the Chicks

I saw the Dixie Chicks when they were part of the George Strait Festival. The concert rocked and I got to meet them again. There were a lot of people backstage, mostly radio contest winners, so I really didn't get to talk to the Chicks as long as I did last time. The cool thing was that Natalie actually remembered me! She was like, "Hey! What's up!" And I was like "Hey"! Emily looked at me kind of weird, and Natalie said, "Emily, it's the website girl!" And Emily was like, "Oh yeah, HEY!" Anyway, that was about all I said to them. But I did ask Emily about Fan Fair and she said that they will NOT be there, that they're gonna be in Europe.

The concert was awesome! We were sitting 17th row center stage, about 25 yards from the stage, and I got some good pics. I've seen them 3 times now, and I would have to say that this was the best I've seen them! They were very, very entergetic and you could tell they were excited to be apart of it all. They started off with "Tonite the Heartache" and had the crowd on it's feet from the first note. Nat was running all over the stage and doing her usual headbanging. The only bad thing was that you couldn't hear Emily playing her banjo at all. They did play 2 new songs from the new album- "Cold Day in July" and "Sin Wagon". I can tell you right now that "Cold Day in July" will be a #1 hit.
~"You said you wouldn't leave me until a Cold Day in July"~
That is one amazing song. It's kind of mid-tempo (a little slower than "Wide Open Spaces") and has lots of dobro. I loved it. "Sin Wagon" was good too- a fast song with lots of fiddle and banjo. Natalie said that since she has some extra "baggage" now (her divorce), that she decided to write some songs. She said "Sin Wagon" was about a girl who has been good all her life and just became single and decided to go out and do all her sinning in one nite. She said she hopes to live out this song someday...and then she laughed about it. There was a lot of joking around between the 3 of them and I don't think it was rehearsed! They just kept cracking on each other- Nat would say something bad about Emily, and Martie would have a comeback for Nat. This just kept going on...very funny!

They wrapped the show up with "I Can Love You Better" and during the song they did their own little version of "That Thing" by Lauryn Hill. "Some Chicks are only about That Thing". I thought that was cool. This was by far the best Chicks show I've been too. Hope yall can see them soon! It's worth it!

Thanks goes out to Chari, Karen, and The Chicks! Thank You
