October is always a very exciting month for aoll CMSA members with the Awards Show coming up. This year will be our largest show to date due to adding new catgegories. I want to thank all the members for your sponsorships and for all your hard work in getting outside sponsors. Also, I'm thanking you in advance for all the hard work in getting the show put together and helping with decorations, etc. We couldn't do it without you. I am looking forward to seeing each of one of you there. Good luck to all nominees. Our catered dinner this year will be from End O' Main from Watonga, OK. We are going to have a fantastic menu. Our special Emcee will be KFOR-TV reporter, Ali Meyer. She is very excited about being there. By the way, for the past 5 years our Awards Show has always been the same weekend as the OU/TEXAS football game so this year we moved it down one weekend and guess what? They did too. Sorry for the inconvenience if there is any. We tired.
The Halloween show is scheduled for October 26th. It will also be a party so come in costume if you want to. There will be prizes for the best costume, one for adults and one for a child. There will also be snacks so bring your favorite munchies to share.
The new CD/Tape player has arrived. It was used at the last show and worked very well. Stop by the sound booth next time you're at a show and take a look at it.
Once again, good luck to the nominees!!
Danny Barton, President C.M.S.A.

Throughout Barbara Fairchild's exciting career she has received many awards and honors. It was the beginning of a new era in American music ...the transition from traditional "hillbilly" music to "country and western" music and the forerunner of today's Country music. It was a period known as "The Golden Era of Country Music" and a major contributor was steel guitarist Don Helms.
It is a true honor to have these Legends join the NACMAI Hall of Fame family and we look forward to their induction at the Sixth Annual NACMAI Hall of Fame and Awards Show on March 16, 2003, at the Louise Mandrell Theater in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.
