The Dining Room

Across the foyer from the living room is the dining room where Elvis and his ever present entourage of family, friends, and personal staff would crowd around the eight-foot table.
Here they would enjoy great Southern cooking, play a little low-to-no stakes poker, and swap stories. The main Christmas tree was placed in the dining room each holiday season, often in front of the large north window, with the adults exchanging gifts on Christmas Eve and Lisa Marie waiting until Christmas morning. The approximate dining room dimensions are 17'x24', with a nine-foot ceiling.

This photograph was taken from Elvis' perspective sitting at the head of the dining room table. Evening meals were typically served between 9:00 and 10:00 P.M. The Buckingham pattern of Noritake china(pictured here) was selected by Priscilla and Elvis at the time of their marriage. The original china is in California with Priscilla and Lisa. The flatware on the table is original. The chandelier over the table and the one in the foyer are two of three purchased by Elvis in 1974.

This cabinet on the west wall contains some of the Presley household silver.

Corner shelf units, accented by reddish neon, contain original pieces of artwork and bric-a-brac enjoyed by Elvis and his family.
