About Samantha
Samantha Joell Baird, born September 15, 1994, is our oldest
Granddaughter. She came to live with us at the age of four
months, after an experience that changed her life, and ours,
forever.
Sammy is a smart and out-going child. She showed signs at a
very early age of needing the strength of schooling far outside
what we were prepared to give her at home. We signed her up in a
"Head Start" program at the age of three, which she
took to right away. She began to make fast friends with the other
children, eagerly coming home daily with news of her exciting
activities. Sammy loved school so much that she even went to
summer reading programs.
Chris and I started a huge album of Sammy's school
assignments and pictures of her newfound friends. My interest in
web page design provided a perfect means to share this
information with the rest of her extended family. She readily
took part in designing her pages, picking out the themes,
pictures and projects to show off.
Shortly after Sammy's seventh birthday, her birth Father,
having earlier expressed an interest in an active part in raising
his daughter, took her to live with him in another state.
We are in frequent touch with one another, but have no handy
way of maintaining her pages. They will always act as a reminder
of a wonderful time in Grandma and Grandpa's lives.
