Cruise 2001

Here are some pics from Stoneys cruise to Nassau. We left out out Port Canaveral, Florida on Thursday, January 4th and returned on Sunday morning, January 7th. The weather was unusually cold in Florida the day we left. We had a pleasant day in Nassau, about 75 degrees. Our Saturday at sea was cold once again, and the weather was wonderful for our trip back to South Carolina on Sunday. I have thumbnailed the pics for you modem users to speed loadtime. Enjoy!

This is a scan from a postcard of the cruise ship Fantasy.

Yours truly on deck with all my cameras. World traveler huh!

This pic is from the deck of the ship looking out at Nassau. Is that not some blue water?

Here we are unloading luggage on Thursday. That is my black S-10 on the left and me at passenger door.

Nassau is a place of much activity and color. This is just one of the buildings.

Taken from the beach at Paradise Island. The weather was to cold for me to swim, but it did not stop some.

To my left is where the islanders braid hair for the tourist. Notice the policeman in the black uniform.

Because of the coldish weather, the pools were not open most of the time. The jacuzzi however, did a thriving business.

Taken in port at Nassau. Next to our ship is the Disney ship (red stacks). There were five ships in port at once.

Taken from the ship looking at the gangway into Nassau. Nassau is in the background. The white ship to the right is the Norwegian Star.

Looking at the aft end of the Disney ship. The anchor was really cute. It was made to look like Donald Duck though its not really clear in this picture.

Another pic looking toward Paradise Island. We took a ferry over that afternoon and a taxi back. Whoa, what a ride!

On the beach again. See the paraglider? You could ride for $45, but like I said, a little to cold for me.

Under the causeway coming out of the ship. They had a band to greet us. I would have sang a song but I had nothing prepared.

Another picture of the buildings in Nassau.

We took a carriage ride through the city. The carraige shed is to the left.

I must admit Nassau is a whacky place. I should move there. I would fit right in!

Ok..that about does it. It was nice. It was too short. I hope you have enjoyed! Stoney
