Don Brown

Don was born in Tahoka, Texas. When he was 10 years old he was given his first guitar, a "Stella" from Sears. His Uncle A.J. Brown taught him a few chords to get him started.

He listened to records of his heros on the "Grand Ole Opry" and learned to play their music. On Sunday when his Uncle A.J. came by to tune his guitar he usually had to learn his songs all over again.

The family moved to Azusa, CA in 1948. Don grew up, became a machinist and spent his spare time playing his guitar in local clubs. He played lead guitar and sang in a number of bands. In 1963 he was working for "Tony Diaz and the Melody Ramblers." They appeared on a weekly TV show on KCHU, a UHF station located on the old Orange Show Road in San Bernardino.

He formed his band, "Flat Out Country" in 1996. When the band is not busy fulfilling music engagements, he restores classic cars at his home in Riverside, California.
