Page 5Furman Sines, 82, died Friday in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Nancy McElwee in Center Village. He was a former resident of Johnstown, and had been ill but two weeks. Besides his daughter he is survived by four sons: Milton of Johnstown, Tilton of Waverly, Perry of Granville and Furman Jr. of Scarsburg, and sister, Mrs. Viola Needles of Columbus.
The spelling on the headstone is Ferman.

FURMAN SINES, 82, FORMER RESIDENT OF JOHNSTOWN DIED FRIDAY NIGHT AT THE HOME OF HIS DAUGHTER, MRS NANCY MCELWEE IN CENTER VILLAGE. HE HAD BEEN ILL 2 WEEKS AND DEATH RESULTED FROM HARDENING OF THE LIVER. HIS WIFE PRECEEDED HIM IN DEATH. HE LEAVES BESIDE HIS DAUGHTER, 4 SONS, MILTON OF JOHNSTOWN, TILTON OF WAVERLY,PERRY OF GRANVILLE, AND FURMAN JR OF SUNBURY,ALSO A SISTER MRS VIOLA NEEDLES OF COLUMBUS, 18 GRANDCHILDRENAND 7 GREAT GRANDCHILDREN. THE BODY WAS REMOVED TO THE PAUL EMERSON FUNERAL HOME AND SERVICES WILL BE HELD THERE MONDAY MORNING AT 10 AM WITH BURIAL IN GREEN HILL CEMETERY.

Also survived by 1 son, Elijah Needles of Newark, Ohio; 5 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren. She was born and reared at Center Village, Ohio. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. from the DeVore Funeral Home, Delaware. Rev. Mrs. Marzelle Smith officiating. Burial, Hanover Cemetery.
