Richard C. Sines, 71, of Gahanna, died Wednesday, April 13 1994, at Pataskala Oaks Nursing Center. Born April 8 1932, in Waverly, he was the son of the late Tilton and Cora Johnson Sines. Mr. Sines was a communications engineer for Ohio Bell Telephone, a Navy veteran of Korean War and World War II, and a member of the Telephone Pioneer and Independent Order of Foresters. He is survived by his wife, Doris P.; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Teresa, of Athens, a daughter, Kathy Sines of Gahanna, a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and James Smith; a grandson, Matthew Smith of Gahanna; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters. Services will be Saturday, 1 p.m. at Schoedinger Gahanna Chapel, 335 West Johnstown Road, with Rev. Newell Smith officiating. Private burial services will be conducted for the family only. Friends may call at the funeral home today, 5 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to: The Parkinson's Society, 1900 Ridgeview Road, Columbus.
