Son of the late Oda and Bessie (Pierce) Nance of Ironton, Ohio. Preceded in death by sister, Pinky and son Phillip. Survived by wife, June; daughter and son-in-law Connie and Jay Sines, of Pickerington, Ohio; daughter Gail Nance of Columbus, Ohio; sons and daughters-in-law, Chauncey Jr. and Kathy Nance, of London, Ohio; David ans Peggy Nance, of Columbus, Ohio; Mark and Paula Nance, of Columbus, Ohio; son Mathew Nance, of Columbus, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; brother, Ernest Nance Sr., of Columbus, Ohio, sisters, Gladys Presley, of Palmory, Ohio, Rose Caudill, of Columbus, Ohio, Betty Sites, of Ironton, Ohio, Lillian Stauffis, of New Hampshire, Juanita Daniels, of Mt. Vernon, Ohio; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services Wednesday, 10:30 a.m. Schoedinger Hilltop Chapel, 3030 W Broad St. where friends may call Monday 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Interment Green Lawn Cemetery. Rev. Page 6CHoward W. Phillips, age 87, of Dublin Retirement Center and a former resident of Upper Arlington, peacefully went home to be with our Lord Monday, May 21, 2001 at Kobacker House. He was the owner/founder of Howard Phillips Inc. General Contractors. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years Louise Phillips in 1999 and his only daughter Marabelle George in 1975. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Jean Phillips, Galloway, Robert and Sheila Phillips, Upper Arlington and Paul and Patricia Phillips, Dublin; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; sisters, Ann Teets, Conn. and June Nance, Columbus. He was a member of Memorial Baptist Church since 1928. Howard was a 50 year member of U.S. Trottinig Association and won over 600 harness races and he was also a lifetime member of the Franklin County Fair. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Schoedinger Northwest Chapel, 1740 Zollinger Road, were funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, May 25, 2001.
