IMMIGRANTS, NOT AMERICANS, MUST
ADAPT.
I am tired of this nation worrying
about whether we are offending some individual or
their culture. Since
the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, we have experienced
a surge in patriotism by the majority of Americans.
However, the dust from the attacks had barely settled
when the "politically correct" crowd began
complaining about the possibility that our patriotism
was offending others.
I am not against immigration, nor do I hold a grudge
against anyone who is seeking a better life by
coming to America. Our population is almost entirely
comprised of descendants of immigrants.
However, there are a few things that those who have recently
come to our country, and apparently some
born here, need to understand. This
idea of America being a multicultural community has
served only to dilute our sovereignty and our
national identity. As Americans, we have our own
culture, our own society, our own language and our
own lifestyle. This culture has been developed over
centuries of struggles, trials, and victories by
millions of men and women who have sought freedom.
We speak ENGLISH, not Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese,
Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you
wish to become part of our society, learn the
language!
"In God We Trust" is our national motto. This is not some
Christian, right wing, political slogan. We adopted
this motto because Christian men and women, on
Christian principles, founded this nation, and this
is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate
to display it on the walls of our schools. If God
offends you, then I suggest you consider another part
of the world as your new home, because God is part
of our culture.
If Stars and Stripes offend you, or you don't like Uncle Sam,
then you should seriously consider a move to another
part of this planet. We are happy with our culture
and have no desire to change, and we really don't
care how you did things
where you came from. This is OUR COUNTRY, our land,
and our lifestyle. Our First Amendment gives every
citizen the right to express his opinion and we
will allow you every opportunity to do so. But,
once you are done complaining, whining, and griping
about our flag, our pledge, our national motto, or
our way of life, highly encourage you to take
advantage of one other great American freedoms, THE
RIGHT TO LEAVE.
I didn't write it but I believe
in it.

On Tuesday morning, September 11, 2001, terrorists attacked
America in a series of despicable acts of war. They hijacked four
passenger jets, crashed two of them into the World Trade Center's
twin towers and a third into the Headquarters of the U.S.
Department of Defense at the Pentagon, causing great loss of life
and tremendous damage. The fourth plane crashed in the
Pennsylvania countryside, killing all on board but falling well
short of its intended target apparently because of the heroic
efforts of passengers on board. This carnage, which caused the
collapse of both Trade Center towers and the destruction of part
of the Pentagon, killed more than 250 airplane passengers and
thousands more on the ground.
Civilized people around the world denounce the evildoers who
devised and executed these terrible attacks. Justice demands that
those who helped or harbored the terrorists be punished -- and
punished severely. The enormity of their evil demands it. We will
use all the resources of the United States and our cooperating
friends and allies to pursue those responsible for this evil,
until justice is done.
We mourn with those who have suffered great and disastrous
loss. All our hearts have been seared by the sudden and sense-less
taking of innocent lives. We pray for healing and for the strength
to serve and encourage one another in hope and faith.
Scripture says: "Blessed are those who mourn for they
shall be comforted." I call on every American family and the
family of America to observe a National Day of Prayer and
Remembrance, honoring the memory of the thousands of victims of
these brutal attacks and comforting those who lost loved ones. We
will persevere through this national tragedy and personal loss. In
time, we will find healing and recovery; and, in the face of all
this evil, we remain strong and united, "one Nation under
God."
NOW, THEREFORE, I, GEORGE W. BUSH, President of the United
States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the
Constitution and laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim
Friday, September 14, 2001, as a National Day of Prayer and
Remembrance for the Victims of the Terrorist Attacks on September
11, 2001. I ask that the people of the United States and places of
worship mark this National Day of Prayer and Remembrance with
noontime memorial services, the ringing of bells at that hour, and
evening candlelight remembrance vigils. I encourage employers to
permit their workers time off during the lunch hour to attend the
noontime services to pray for our land. I invite the people of the
world who share our grief to join us in these solemn observances.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this thirteenth
day of September, in the year of our Lord two thousand one, and of
the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred
and twenty-sixth.

May 28th 2000 - News about KY show! I had to miss this one! :(
Sometimes things just don't work out.
cbaird11
I just got home from the Somerset show and as usual Jerry put on a great show! It was
really kind of different for me to see Jerry in this type of venue (a large tent on a
farm) there was a good size crowd there for this type of show. I would estimate somewhere
around 1500. Jerry played from 8:30-10:00. After the show Jerry took a 10 minute break and
then came out and signed autographs for at least an hour (I waited in line that long). I
asked Jerry if One Way Records was going to release any other older albums on CD and he
seemed not to know that any had been released. I told him that they had released some old
albums and it says One Way Records and BMG on them. He never really seemed to know what I
was talking about but seemed intrested in them. Needless to say there was a crowd of
people waiting behind me so I eventually just told him bye and left. Also Jerry had his
laff-a-thon video for sale as well as T-shirts, caps, and a new CD to me it is titled
"Jerry Reed Visits Hit Row" it is released by Jerry Reed Enterprises. BTW the
new CD will be titled "Finger Dancing".
opiekanopi
Hey everyone, I just got back from the Somerset, Ky show. Jerry looked like he felt great
and really had fun. As most of you know he has two new releases coming out this year on
his own new label. The one most are talking about is the all instrumental one. Well he
released the name of it tonight. Its going to be called "Fingers Dance" or
something close to that. Inspired by the "River Dance" dance musical. The CD is
finished but he didn't have copies of it. Still no URL on the new website but he did say
that it would be ready in about 4 to 5 weeks. The big surprise was he did have the other
brand new CD called "Jerry Reed Visits Hit Row" This CD has 11 of Jerry's Hits
re-recorded just this year. I bought a copy of it tonight and had it signed. The songs on
it are 1)East Bound 2)Lord Mr. Ford 3)She Got the Goldmine 4)A Thing Called Love 5)Guitar
Man 6)The Preacher and the Bear 7)The Bird 8)Remembering 9)Amos Moses 10)Waitin For the
Robert E. Lee, and 11)When your Hot Your Hot. This Cd is probably only going to be
available on his website and of course at the shows. Jerry and Chip Young are the
producers. I haven't even had a chance to listen to the whole thing yet. AWWWWWW
SOOONNN!
Chet Atkins Appreciation Society Next year's CAAS
dates are July 12-15.
Plummer
Guitars! - You'll want to take note that we will be at the Chet
Atkins Appreciation Society convention July 12th through 15th held at the Music City
Sheraton this year. We'll be showing off our Jerry Reed and Thom Bresh signature
model guitars as well as our electric resophonics. Orders will be taken at our table
for any of the guitars that we offer. If you can't wait until then, call us toll
free at 877 578 8194. We'll be glad to take your order for your very own custom
Plummer guitar.
OK - Jerry Fans - Send your thoughts!
- I have received several letters for Jerry along with some other items and
requests. Now I see there is a real need for this man to get an e-mail address. Till that
time I am saving all of them and will hand them over to him at the next show. So if you
want a letter, note or poem added to the file just send it on. I will NOT take any items
such as advertisements for your record company or "I want you to record my song"
letters. This is just for us fans! Show the man you care!
For the guitar guys - we have found that there is a real interest in him
producing a tape showing his pickin, maybe just for fun or a teaching tape! If you want
him to do this why not add it to your note! Hint Hint!
March 29th - This must be our month Jerry Fans! The good news just keeps on
coming! More shows have been added to the list! Including one of my personal favorite
place to go Mississippi! Yea, Sonnn! Love all the shows Jerry, but take care of your self!
OK!!

Follow up - March 25th: Go for it
guys and gals! I was in touch with a very nice person who
knows and this is for real. So feel free to do as you
wish with the contact information. All we can do is scream, YES! Good luck to who is doing all the work
and keep the good news rolling.

News
from MisterGuitar.com - Julian Smith, Bowdon, GA:
I heard that you were recording another CD. Is that correct? If so when will it be
available? JS.
Paul:
I'm doing another CD - Jerry Reed is sort of the producer. We picked out the tunes to do,
he may sing on a couple. I have recorded 4 of them here at home but I will overdub the
bass and other things later. It will more than likely be July or later when it is
finished. I'm not in any hurry, thx for asking Julian

Some news on another of
the Old Dogs - Waylon Jennings came roaring out of
his past Jan. 5-6 with a milestone of a two-night concert series at the Ryman Auditorium
to remind Music Row that its veterans still have some lead in their pencils and some bark
in their bite. Jennings was cutting his first live album since 1976, doing it for Sony
Music Nashville's Lucky Dog Records, and he invited his wife Jessi Colter and fellow Sony
label mates Travis Tritt, John Anderson, and Montgomery Gentry to join him. With a
three-piece horn section anchored by Jim Horn, the great guitarist Reggie Young,
synthesizer, keyboards, fiddle, steel, backup singers, drums, bass, and guitar, it was as
full and full-blown a live sound as Jennings has ever displayed.
