Ladies of the Heart was the first internet group I ever joined. I've been a member for almost 3 years now. This is where I learned everything I ever cared to know about graphics and HTML. These girls are very talented and helpful. Check 'em out and maybe you can become a "Lady of the Heart." :-)
The Youth online club was started by someone I met in LOTH named Shauna. She is a youth councelor in Canada. I was one of the select few who volunteered to get this immense project off the ground. It was quite an undertaking to provide a place where kids of all ages and walks of life could come together and find new friends and view sites that weren't for "grown-ups." I have loved every minute of it and hope to see it reach mythic proportions. Look out Bill Gates! LOL
The website elves! eeekk!! haha To be honest I did not voluntarily join the elves,I was dragged into it kicking and screaming by the elf mistress,or grandma elf as I call her, and a good friend of mine. At the time I knew next to nothing about HTML or web sites and these people specialize in helping others make their sites better. So you can see why I was kicking and screaming. "What if someone asks me something I can't answer?! Then what?!" Actually I think I used stronger language than that but I'm trying to be clean here. :-) Aside from all this,I'm proud to say I was one of the first 100 elves,hence the t-shirt they made for me. Isn't it cute? hehe I have learned alot from the elves too. It is because of them that I have improved my site so much that people have asked me to do their sites for them. So now on top of my own sites,I do several sites for other people. Ive been HTML'd to death! The elves are very informal and always joking around which is right up my alley. I love all of them. *sniffle* :-)
I don't know if this counts as a membership or not but I'm putting it up here because I'm proud to be a CL in Nashville. It has enabled me to help even more people who are new to the 'net and are a little scared as I was when I first got net access. I believe that I was able to become a CL because of everything I learned in LOTH and the website elves. All of these places are absolutley invaluable to me. I learn something new about web design and myself everyday. :-)
