One way rider plays a unique combination of Bluegrass, New Grass and Gospel music. One Way Rider is also a family band. The Mayfield family has beautiful harmonies, fast paced instrumentals, and a warm comical stage personality.

       The Dad, David Lee Mayfield, sings lead and harmony vocals. plays the guitar and bass, the mandolin, and according to Valerie is a professional emcee.

      The Mom, Valerie Fay Mayfield, sings lead and harmony vocals, plays the mandolin, bass and guitar. Valerie grew upin a Bluegrass family, and started performing with her father Victor Sargent and her brother Larry Sargent.

      The son, David Ray Mayfield, a.k.a. "Bass Boy", sings lead and harmony vocals, plays the bass, mandolin and guitar. "Bass Boy" is the driving force behind One Way Rider's music. A phenomenal musician at the age of 15, "Bass Boy" takes fantastic solos on bass, guitar and mandolin.

     Nine year old, Jessica Lea Mayfield, is the youngest member of One Way Rider. She can really belt out a tune and is always a crowd favorite.

    Amanda Lynn Mayfield is the family's oldest daughter and travels with the group taking care of the business end of things.

    This family really enjoys entertaining. They now play in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio. One Way Rider provides an excellent show that appeals to all ages.
