Been There Done That

Woke up this mornin' my head was a mess
Woman beside me completely undressed
Couldn't remember where I'd been last night
So I thought real hard for some alibis
I've been here and I've been around
Been there…done that

I pulled off the covers so quietly
Afraid I might wake her up from her sleep
You know how it gets around closin' time
Well drinkin' and hormones they just don't rhyme
I'm aware that I've been a fool
Been there…done that

BREAK
There's a jukebox playin' in every heart
When the dancing begins that's when the trouble starts
Someone's ole lady's out with someone's ole man
Someone's trying to put the pieces back together again

A horrible thought she might feel the same
If she wakes and can't remember my name
It's just a fact a man cannot embrace
The woman beside him can't place his face
Been on one side and I've been back
Been there…done that

REPEAT BREAK

I thought about running out the back door
Something inside said I gotta know more
She rolled over you know I was surprised
That woman beside me damn it's my wife
See sometimes it all works out right
Been there…done that

Been there…done that
Been there…done that
