BIOGRAPHY
When
this young quintet isn't making you jump in the aisles to a funky hip-hop number, they'll
be holding you in awe with a silky-smooth, southful ballad. Their sound is best described
as a fusion of hip-hop, R&B, and pop with as urban feel all its own. By the look of
their synergy and tightness, you'd think they've been together for decades, so it's hard
to believe their ages range from only 13 to 17 But seeing is believing and one thing is fo
sure--you'll be seeing a lot of Take 5! Let's meet them one by one
13 year Clay Goodelll's resume reads like a seasoned
ertertainment veteran. This happy, go-lucky kid has appeared in four major motion
pictures,, numerous commercials, and had key roles in a plethora of live stage shows. His
favourite pastime is writing music and playing his piano. When asked why he took a chance
with Take 5, Clay responed very simply,"you'll always miss 100% of the shots you
don't take."
Also 13, T.J Christofore is 110 pounds of raw energy. Before teaming up with his Take 5 cohorts, this lad was the 1995 Star Search winner and the following year was invented to White House to perform solo, not to mention other accomplishments too numerous to list. How did he accomplish these and many other feats so young? As he says, "Dare to dream. Be all that you can be and follow your dreams because they really can come true."
The son of a minister, 15 year old Steve Sculthorpe's positive attiude reflects his deep faith in God. Although he's done a lot of modeling, commercial work, and theater his first loves are singing and dancing. When he's not working with the rest of Take 5 guys, Stevie loves to participate in sports and meets girls. To Stevie Take 5 is the opportunity of a lifetime, "God gave me the talent, my parents gave me the talent my parents gave me the encouragement, and Take 5 gave me the opportunity."
16 year old Tilky Jones is a deep and sensitive young man, mature beyond his years. Before meeting his friends in Take 5, Tilky's life was a series of auditions, call-backs, rehearsals, and performances. He has performed in major Equoty theater roles and notched a number of nationally televised commercials. Tilky's ideal of relaxing is sittingin with a band and jamming on his drums. Says Tilky,"There is no greater rush than performing live and I thank God for everyone in my life who has helped me get this far."
Clay's 17 year old big brother, Ryan Goodell, is no slouch either. He honed his vocal skills at an early age with the Minneapolis Metropolitan Boys Choir and went on to do community theater, commercials, and other film work. He also competed in dance, winning the Nationals in boys jazz. Ryan began studying music at the age of five and plays classical piano and cello. His favourite quote is, "You will never discover new oceans unless you have the courage to lose sight of the shore."
Take 5 is the result of some longstanding friendships and little
luck. Ryan and Clay had been good friends with T.J. since their days together in the
Minneapolis Boys Choir. Later on, the three boys relocated down to do some auditioning.
While waiting for their turn at an audition, the boys met Tilky and Steve and immediately
hit it off. From T.J.'s stratospherically high falsettos to Ryan's cello like baritones,
interspersed with the harmonically diverse tenors of Clay, Stevie, and Tilky, Take 5 takes
vocal harmony to a new level. That harmony, combined with awesome stage presence and
unbridled youthful enthusiasm makes Take 5 a perfect 10!
