Spring clean up has just been completed. A new year of growing is about to begin. Follow me...
This is not an April Fools' Day joke. This is how my gardens look in early Spring. Good thing I like playing in the dirt, and I have my music to keep me smiling...Belle loves the empty gardens. She likes playing in the dirt, too. And her catnip plants should be up soon to keep her smiling:)
Within a week of the above pics being taken, the arrabis appeared. It is the best thing about this time of year. It is an early bloomer which spreads easily and brightens my spirits after a long miserable New England winter. And my Mother's Day is always blessed by the sweet scent of the Lily of The Valley :)
After a weekend of planting annuals and dating "Peat Moss", Belle takes over the patrolling of the gardens. Her job is now to keep the squirrels from digging holes looking for peanuts. She does it well :)
Summer has finally arrived! Take a seat and have something cold to drink. I need to take some more pictures. And if you are reading the alt text, just kidding.. lol!
Well, Belle has something! Me thinks it is only a moth... | And she has her bad habits, too. The catnip is ready for harvesting :)
The summer rains were heavy this year but I was able to get a picture of the side garden before the withering began.
As the summer grew, so did the catnip. Here you can barely see Belle lazing happily in her catnip cave.
